It’s a competition where you design, build and race solar-powered cars across the country. 1700-mile road trip traveling through 7 states in 8 days from Austin, TX to Minneapolis, MN. The 2014 Formula Sun Grand Prix is free and open to the public on Saturday, July 19 from 9a-5p. Get there early at 8am and check out the teams charging their ride, which ha the body of the car w/ the solar array pointed towards the sun reveailng the chassis underneather. There will be planned activies that include a model solar car workshop for the kiddos, a demonstration by the Solar Rollers and more…
Parking is free and concessions will be available for purchase. All activities will be set up in the paddock area, with the ability to see the race from the stands and participate in the additional educational activities set up in and around the Event Center. You will also be able to walk on the paddock side of the garages and chat with the teams.
